AUCKLAND ART GALLERY
We’ve hosted a series of Sensory Experiences at the Auckland Art Gallery, with a different theme each year.
These half-day scent sessions allowed us to share in-depth technical knowledge about perfume design, hero ingredients and the language of perfumery.
2017: SCENT ART – exploring scent and colour symbolism, psychology, colour wheels and mandalas
2018: FOUR SEASONS – celebrating a different hero botanical for Summer, Autumn, Winter & Spring
2019: NATIVE & WILD – solid perfume workshop using botanicals from Australasia & the Asia-Pacific region
AUCKLAND ART GALLERY CORSINI’S FLORA
Custom Scent Design for The Corsini Collection: A Window on Renaissance Florence
The collaboration involved sampling perfumes with 20 gallery staff including senior curator Mary Kisler. Based upon their feedback we created 50 limited edition bottles of Flora – named after the goddess of spring and inspired by the dynamism of the Renaissance period, and Botticelli’s Primavera, a pastoral scene created for the Medici family which includes 500 identified plant species, 190 different flowers and a gorgeous overarching orange grove.
“The end result was a product which was totally original – we truly felt it evoked the Florence of the Renaissance and was inspired by the art of the time.”
