Why We Love Eucalyptus!
Like most things that were once ‘in fashion’, solid perfume has made a stunning resurgence. Major commercial fragrance houses like; Jo Malone, Chanel, Diptyque, Le Labo and Tom Ford all created solid perfumes in recent years. Solid perfume is exactly as the name suggests – perfume in a solid state. This much we know, but why the sudden rise, and why should we add one to our beauty routine?
THE BENEFITS OF EUCALYPTUS
Physically the healing power of the Eucalyptus leaf lies in its antibacterial, antiseptic, and expectorant properties. Inhaling eucalyptus opens the sinuses and is even used to relieve mental exhaustion by boosting circulation to the brain. Emotionally, it can bring calm to the mind and strengthen the nervous system. Spiritually it can be burned to clear negative energy after an argument.
All in all, you can consider eucalyptus a perfect revival for body, mind and spirit.
MODERN PERFUME INGREDIENT
Used as a green, citrusy middle note, eucalyptus is appreciated for its fresh clean scent, this combined with its therapeutic qualities, sees it used in soaps, detergents, antibacterial cleaners and of course perfume – it’s definitely a favourite of ours!
HOW WE USE IT
The piercing sharpness of eucalyptus means it is complimented by lighter notes like lavender, lemongrass, rosemary and thyme.
